Santa was kind to this Jeep fan on Christmas. I woke up to some new headlights, Oracle Oculus Bi-LED Projector. I also got the new grill mesh I have been wanting.
Headlights
Since I bought my Jeep used and its a sport, I have had the pleasure of driving with the very underwhelming stock halogen headlights. Not going to sugar coat anything here, these lights are terrible. Can't see anything. If you live somewhere that isn't littered with streetlights you will quickly notice how much these leave to be desired. Love the cool Jeep grill logo baked into these headlights, but not cool enough to keep them around forever.
The Oculus headlights look amazing. I'm not a fan of the Mopar LED upgrade. Not for performance reasons though. From what I have read the Mopar option performs well. It comes down to a personal choice of style. I looked at a bunch of options across the market and found Oculus to be the best. Here is a comparison to the Oculus headlights against Mopar.
Grill Mesh
Ever since I saw this post on the JL Forums I have wanted to swap out my grill. For my Jeep I am after a classic look and feel. The grill mesh from the Gladiator is much larger and feels more at home with me for this build. I don't have a fantastic stock comparison for you on this one. Just imagine the honeycomb of the JL about 4x the size.
Stuff Removed
For this update we are adding 2 new things. The rest is about what we removed. It has bothered me to no end that the fenders connect to the bumper. Needs to stop, shouldn't be a thing.
The next piece we removed was more of a spur of the moment decision. To remove the fender to bumper connectors you need to remove the air dam to get access. Once it was gone I didn't want to put it back. We went a step further and removed the metal that is behind the plastic air dam,

I didn't fly blind here. I used guides from others for this work to make it go faster and avoid mistakes. Here are the videos I watched to give me an idea of what I was in for.
